Superficial alexia
A reading disorder in which the patient loses the ability to read words correctly that do not lend themselves to phonetic analysis, such as words with non-standard pronunciation. People with superficial alexia can make mistakes in reading such words, relying on their phonetic structure, which leads to errors.the condition is associated with a malfunction of the lexical system of word recognition, in which the ability to perceive words as a whole, as a single visual image, is lost.
