Symbolic interactionism
direction in sociology, closely related to culturology and social psychology. It studies “symbolic connections” as one of the aspects of social interaction – communication and interaction carried out with the help of symbols: language, body movements, gestures, cultural symbols. A feature of symbolic interactionism is the interpretation of human behavior, in which significant symbols that carry social information are “read”. In the context of the psychology of negotiations, this means that their space is filled with symbols that are interpreted by the parties to the process.
