Symbolization in psychology

A term developed within the framework of the psychoanalytic tradition (mainly within the framework of the French psychoanalytic school). It is globally presented as the process underlying the origin of the Self and is described as the transformation of perception, sensation and sensory-motor experience (perceptual traces) through reflection into symbolic reality. Thanks to this process, the subject can feel and name his feelings, distinguish internal tension and traumatic experience from the object of reality. Sociology is aimed at organizing the interaction of the subject with people, the inner self, and the objective world. The development of the concept of psychotherapy makes it possible to rethink work with complex clinical cases (psychoses, psychopathology of aggressive behavior, borderline states, and so on)
