Symptom of applause
a clinical symptom used to detect some neurological diseases, especially Parkinson’s disease. It is observed when the patient tries to clap his hands, and instead of a smooth, coordinated movement, the palms converge in a series of rapid, jerky movements. Such irregular, clumsy clapping indicates bradykinesia (slowness of movement), which is characteristic of Parkinson’s disease.
