Symptoms and manifestations of psychosomatic disorders

a complex of visible processes in the body, which are very diverse and reflect a complex interaction of psychological and physical factors. These symptoms appear as true physical symptoms but are not always fully explained by conventional medical research. These include physical symptoms such as chronic headaches, muscle and joint pain, gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), nausea, loss of appetite and sleep disturbances, and cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure, heart palpitations and angina. Psychological symptoms include constant anxiety, depression, tension, mood swings, feelings of helplessness, or chronic psychological fatigue, which are often associated with worsening physical symptoms. Behavioral and social symptoms, on the other hand, manifest themselves in the form of avoidance of daily activities, decreased productivity at work or school, social isolation, and difficulties in relationships in the family and society. These manifestations reflect an inverse relationship between emotions and the body, as constant psychological stress leads to physiological changes, such as increased secretion of stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline) and immune system disorders that increase physical symptoms and slow down the recovery process. Thus, understanding the symptoms and manifestations of psychosomatic disorders is not limited to the physical aspect, but includes an assessment of the psychological, neurological, physiological and social aspects of the personality. This allows for the development of comprehensive therapeutic interventions that include psychotherapy, behavioural intervention, social support and, if necessary, medical interventions aimed at improving overall health and quality of life.
