Tasks of a psychologist in the process of rehabilitation
These are various areas of work that are aimed at psychological support of a person at all stages and in all areas of rehabilitation. Understanding that a person who has become disabled as a result of a particular disease or injury has changed psychologically, distinguishes persons with disabilities as a special “risk group” from the point of view of psychological and socio-psychological maladaptation, manifested in various mental deviations and disruption of interaction between a person with a disability and his social environment. The reason for this is the limitation of life activities and social isolation. The activities of rehabilitation institutions are based on the provision of medical and social, social and domestic, social and environmental, socio-cultural, leisure, vocational and labor, civil, psychological and pedagogical, socio-psychological and psychotherapeutic services. At each stage of rehabilitation, the psychologist should take an active part. The specific tasks and forms of work of a psychologist are largely determined by the type of rehabilitation institution.
