In the organization of social rehabilitation assistance at the local level, social workers of executive institutions can take part in the implementation of a number of important tasks at the level of society. The main ones include:
1) raising the level of public awareness of issues related to the problems and rights of persons with disabilities, existing forms of assistance and territorial rehabilitation institutions (including with the involvement of the media);
2) organization, coordination with state and public associations and holding of mass events aimed at increasing the social activity and legal protection of persons with disabilities (conferences, exhibitions, sports competitions, film festivals, actions in order to attract public attention to the needs and rights of persons with disabilities, as well as the ability of persons with disabilities to participate in public processes);
3) participation in ensuring the accessibility of the environment (domestic, territorial) for persons with disabilities; – coordination of the work of institutions of various departments (social services, health care, education, employment, cultural and domestic sphere, etc.) participating in the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
