The Dark Triad

A psychological concept that combines three socially toxic subclinical personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy. This synthetic construct, first proposed by Delroy Paulhus and Kevin Williams in 2002, describes a stable pattern of destructive interpersonal behavior characterized by egocentrism, emotional coldness, manipulativeness, and antisocial tendencies, while not reaching the level of a psychiatric diagnosis. All three traits are associated with a heartless, manipulative interpersonal style.
