The illusion of digital progress

A false sense of progress or improvement that results from the overuse of digital technologies. In this context, people may feel that they are making personal or social progress through the use of modern digital tools such as smartphones, social media, or smart apps. However, this obsession with technology can actually put the brakes on real social or professional progress. For example, a person may believe that their professional growth is due to the use of new online tools, when in fact they may lack real skills or connections that contribute to personal growth. This illusion leads to a sense of inauthenticity and confusion between the real and the virtual.
