The inclusion of the active component of the personality in the rehabilitation process radically changes the approaches to rehabilitation: a person with a disability turns from an object of the rehabilitation process into a subject of rehabilitation. The most typical forms of self-expression of a person in the rehabilitation process:
1) an amateur and creative position is formed in the free education of the individual, the most favorable in the rehabilitation process; However, there is a danger of transition from cooperation between a rehabilitator and a rehabilitator to permissiveness;
2) an unrestrained-active (hyperactive) position, as a rule, is formed in individuals of choleric temperament, manifests itself in a high degree of activity, with insufficient organization of the process of social rehabilitation, leads to permissiveness and connivance; it is not typical for people with congenital disabilities – here, as a rule, there is a lack of activity;
3) a passive-executive position is formed in an authoritarian style of upbringing, characterized by a lack of optimism, a desire to overcome difficulties; the discipline of a person with a disability in the process of rehabilitation can mislead specialists when the latter have the impression that a person with a disability is active and interested in rehabilitation; such a position, as a rule, is characteristic of persons with disabilities from childhood and can change with skillful and purposeful psychological and pedagogical correction;
4) indifferent-passive (hypoactive) position is characteristic of persons with congenital disabilities and persons of melancholic temperament; it is difficult to work with such a disabled person, in this case, a special role is given to motivational work, but staff errors and the progression of the disease can lead to increased indifference and negativism;
5) a protest (protest-negative, protest-capricious) position is an internal protest in relation to a person or a rehabilitation specialist who has shown a certain incorrectness in actions or a value judgment; arises as a result of insufficient upbringing in childhood; is difficult to correct, acts as a kind of resistance to social rehabilitation. Any position of the rehabilitator can be either an aid in rehabilitation work or an obstacle, it is necessary to take into account the internal sources and driving forces of individual development in each specific case.
