Theory of Social Categorization

A theory based on the idea that the human mind, by its very nature, seeks to organize a complex social world by classifying people and groups into categories or groups, aims to simplify social information and make it easier to predict the behavior of other people and their interactions with others. The theory of social categorization explains that the human mind uses categorization as a cognitive tool to understand and organize society, but at the same time opens the door to bias and conflict. Thus, the double-edged sword: on the one hand, it promotes social interaction, but on the other hand, it can contribute to division and discrimination.
