Time of physical interaction with digital systems
the duration and nature of direct human contact with digital devices and interfaces, during which the motor, sensory and tactile functions of the body are involved. This concept emphasizes the corporeality of digital experience – how technology affects the body through physical contact, and the need to balance technological progress and preserving the health of users. Optimizing this time requires an interdisciplinary approach that combines ergonomics, medicine, psychology, and UX design. From the perspective of digital psychology, it studies how physical interaction affects perception and attention, as well as how it can affect digital immersion and engagement in digital experiences. Such interactions can lead to changes in people’s behaviour, such as isolation.
