Treatment of psychosomatic disorders
a complex and integrated therapeutic process aimed at eliminating the complex interaction of psychological and physical factors that contribute to the emergence and persistence of pathological symptoms. This treatment is not limited to organic aspects only, but requires a combination of traditional medical interventions aimed at alleviating physical symptoms or controlling chronic diseases, and psychological interventions aimed at treating stress, internal conflicts, and cognitive and behavioral disorders associated with the disease. Treatment of these disorders is multidimensional and includes pharmacological therapies such as the use of analgesics, sedatives, anti-anxiety medications, and antidepressants (if necessary), and psychotherapy that includes different approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotional therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, or problem-solving therapy. Psychoeducational therapy also plays a key role in helping patients understand the relationship between their psychological state and physical symptoms, increasing self-awareness and increasing adherence to the treatment plan. In addition, treatment includes the development of positive coping strategies and stress management through relaxation and meditation techniques, problem-solving training, as well as the development of communication skills and social support. The collaboration of an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, physiotherapists and nutritionists is essential to ensure comprehensive treatment that covers all aspects of the disease. Thus, the treatment of psychosomatic disorders is a long-term approach aimed at achieving a balance between mind and body, aimed not only at controlling obvious symptoms, but also at eliminating the causes of psychological stress and a comprehensive and sustainable improvement in the quality of life.
