Twilight confusion (twilight disorder of consciousness)
qualitative impairment of consciousness; paroxysmal (suddenly) confusion of consciousness with complete detachment from the environment, but with fixation on a narrow circle of real objects. The condition is manifested by a deep disorientation in the surrounding space with the preservation of habitual automated actions (automatisms), which outwardly seem purposeful, but in fact are not controlled by consciousness. Complete amnesia on exit is characteristic. Sometimes there is a distorted perception of reality, accompanied by hallucinations and delusions. Additional symptoms are emotional tension and psychomotor excitement. This disorder is considered transient (transient): it begins suddenly, lasts for a short time (from several minutes to several days) and ends just as suddenly.
