Types of environmental impacts
The main forms of environmental impact on the physical and psychological state of a person:
1) Physical and natural factors (lighting, temperature, humidity, noise, available space, the presence of plants or the surrounding nature): affect psychological comfort, attention, performance and physical health.
2) Social factors (the presence of other people, population density, interpersonal relationships, social support and norms of social behavior): shape a person’s behavior, attitude, sense of security or threat, as well as the degree of cooperation and the likelihood of conflict.
3) Cultural and value factors (customs, traditions, beliefs, social values, education and socialization): determine a person’s general attitudes, behavioral norms and how he interprets events in his life.
4) Economic and political factors (standard of living, employment opportunities, financial security and political stability): affect everyday decisions, mental health and how a person copes.
