Types of rehabilitation
organization of the rehabilitation process and interaction of professionals with the rehabilitated person depending on the direction and purpose of the activity, which can be a separate problem (or problems) of a person with a disability, the personality of the rehabilitant himself or his environment. The following types of rehabilitation are distinguished:
1) Expert rehabilitation – a specialist works with a specific problem of a person with a disability. The interaction of professionals is assumed in the form of an integrated approach, when different specialists diagnose and offer recommendations from the point of view of their discipline.
2) Client-centered rehabilitation – a professional works with the client’s personality. It is characteristic to consider personality at different levels.
3) Environment-centered rehabilitation – in this case, all family members and other people from the immediate environment of the person with a disability should be included in the rehabilitation process. This approach is characterized by: the division of duties and responsibilities between the directions takes place with mutual participation and discussion; greater awareness of the specific methods of a particular direction among the participants of the rehabilitation process; the person with a disability and his family are in contact with certain people during the entire rehabilitation process; parents (close people) have the opportunity to participate more actively in rehabilitation; a high degree of involvement, support and interdependence of participants in the rehabilitation process.
