Unconscious grief

The process of experiencing loss (real or symbolic), which proceeds unconsciously for the person himself and manifests itself through various psychological and psychosomatic symptoms that, at first glance, do not have a direct connection with the loss. The key characteristics of unconscious grief are:
1) Lack of explicit awareness of loss: a person may not associate his condition with the loss or even not recognize the fact of the loss itself;
2) Indirect symptoms: the experience of grief is disguised as other states.
The task of the psychologist in this case is to help you realize the connection between the current symptoms and the underlying loss, create a safe space for expressing repressed feelings (sadness, anger, guilt) and help you go through all the stages of grief in order to integrate the experience of loss into your life and move on.
