Verbigeration (perseveratory logorrhea)
a psychopathological symptom characterized by stereotyped, often rhythmic repetition of monotonous short words, individual syllables and sounds. Verbigeration is a type of stereotypy and is often combined with stereotypical movements. Most often, this symptom can be observed in catatonic schizophrenia. The term was introduced by the German psychiatrist K. Kahlbaum in 1874.
