disorder of orientation in one’s own body; agnosia of body parts. It occurs when the interparietal sulcus is disturbed, more often when the focus is localized in the right hemisphere. It is more often observed in persons who have suffered a cerebral stroke, as well as with tumors, abscesses, parasites of the brain.
