The founders of the Academy were Yaroslavl State University, the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a group of scientists led by V.V. Novikov. The IAPS coordinates scientific research, organizes international congresses and conferences, publishes scientific papers, implements educational programs for students and postgraduates, and also carries out dissertation activities.
