The participation of parents in socio-pedagogical rehabilitation turns them into accomplices in the rehabilitation process, which is the most important task facing the social pedagogue and rehabilitation specialist. A number of problems arise in solving it, including:
\n1) rehabilitation of family members in which a child with a disability was born;
\n2) informing about the rights and obligations of parents with a child with disabilities;
\n3) explaining to parents the prospects for the development of their child and the possibility of overcoming the pathology, the immediate and long-term goals of rehabilitation;
\n4) development of an individual rehabilitation route and determination of the parents’ place in it;
\n5) training parents in methods of social and pedagogical rehabilitation of a child with disabilities;
\n6) social rehabilitation work with the child with the gradual inclusion of parents;
\n7) gradual expansion of the direct participation of parents and reduction of the role of the specialist in rehabilitation work with the child;
\n8) ensuring the socio-pedagogical patronage of the family;
