Pourtant, les recherches r\u00e9centes sugg\u00e8rent que cette <strong>surprotection parentale<\/strong> pourrait aggraver le probl\u00e8me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les chiffres sont inqui\u00e9tants : un adolescent sur cinq pr\u00e9sente des sympt\u00f4mes d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9. Malgr\u00e9 un acc\u00e8s \u00e9largi \u00e0 la psychoth\u00e9rapie, les r\u00e9sultats restent limit\u00e9s, notamment lorsque la th\u00e9rapie se concentre trop sur les \u00e9motions et la rumination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>th\u00e9rapie cognitivo-comportementale (TCC)<\/strong>, et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment <strong>l\u2019exposition graduelle<\/strong>, reste le traitement de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence. Mais peu de th\u00e9rapeutes l\u2019appliquent r\u00e9ellement, surtout chez les enfants, par crainte de les mettre dans une situation inconfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le psychologue clinicien <strong>Camilo Ortiz<\/strong>, de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Long Island, propose une m\u00e9thode alternative : <strong>la th\u00e9rapie de l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance<\/strong>. Plut\u00f4t que de confronter directement les peurs, l\u2019enfant r\u00e9alise chaque jour une activit\u00e9 seule \u2014 prendre le bus, cuisiner, se rendre chez un ami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces activit\u00e9s constituent des <strong>\u00ab expositions cach\u00e9es \u00bb<\/strong> qui r\u00e9duisent naturellement l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et renforcent la confiance. Les \u00e9tudes montrent des r\u00e9sultats rapides, souvent en moins de deux semaines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme le souligne Ortiz, les enfants n\u2019ont pas besoin d\u2019un environnement parfait, mais d\u2019occasions r\u00e9elles d\u2019apprendre \u00e0 g\u00e9rer la vie.
