American psychologist, one of the founders of personality psychology. He put forward the idea that personality traits are real mental structures, and divided them into primary, central, and secondary dispositions. He sharply criticized psychoanalysis and behaviorism for ignoring the uniqueness and conscious motives of a healthy personality.
