Behavioural patterns in the context of traffic

Stable and repetitive ways of behavior of drivers in various traffic situations are a direct reflection of their psychological characteristics, personality traits, emotions and cognitive abilities. These models are determined by the interaction between the driver and the road situation and include lane selection, driving speed, response to sudden changes in traffic conditions, and emergency behavior. From a psychological point of view, patterns of behaviour on the road can be seen as a practical manifestation of the integration of personality traits such as risk-taking, aggressiveness, self-discipline and emotional resilience with cognitive abilities such as attention, reaction speed and risk assessment. Thus, each driver has his own unique “behavioral imprint” that determines his behavior in various driving situations, whether habitual, everyday or emergency.
