American psychologist, behaviorist, who developed the theory of operant conditioning. He showed that behavior is determined by its consequences (reinforcement – reinforces behavior, punishment – weakens behavior). He invented the “Skinner box” for experiments and promoted the application of behaviorist principles in education, therapy, and society as a whole (behavioral technology).
