Main Aspects of Road Stress
Stressors related to the conditions and situation on the road, such as:
1) Psychological stress – related to the feelings and emotions that the driver experiences as a result of road conditions or external situations, such as anger due to traffic jams; anxiety due to delays or missed appointments; frustration with the behaviour of other road users; social pressure from passengers or other drivers.
2) Mental stress is associated with the cognitive ability to process information and make decisions under the pressure of multiple stimuli and includes: compliance with traffic light signals and quick reaction to them; observation of the movement of other vehicles and estimation of distance and speed; planning maneuvers and making the right decisions in a short time.
