Professional well-being

an integral indicator of positive functioning of a person in the professional sphere. It characterizes a person’s attitude to himself as a professional, to his profession, to a specific professional environment and organizational context in it. Professional well-being can be considered as:
1) a criterion of a person’s professional identity;
2) the indicator of adaptation to the activity and professional group;
3) characteristics of awareness and acceptance of professional values;
4) an integral personal criterion of a professional’s health.
In the model of professional well-being of Peter Warr (1990), four primary components are distinguished: emotional well-being, the desire for growth and development, autonomy, and competence.
