Signe Brunström (1898–1988)

A well-known Swedish-American physiotherapist and neurologist who lived in the XX century. She is best known for developing Brunström Therapy for neurorehabilitation of children and adults after traumatic brain injuries such as stroke or cerebral palsy (see Brunström Therapy in Chapter 2.5 Key Psychological Concepts in Special Category Psychology). This method is based on the gradual restoration of motor functions, passing through successive stages – from reflex movements to complete voluntary control.
