Traffic awareness

Developed cognitive and emotional state of drivers and pedestrians, which allows them to recognize hazards, understand the rules of the road and predict the behavior of other vehicles and pedestrians, contributing to safe and effective decisions on the road. Awareness is one of the fundamental principles of safe behaviour on the road, as it combines theoretical knowledge of traffic rules, constant monitoring of the environment, active attention and the ability to quickly assess complex situations. The main elements of traffic awareness are:
1) Continuous understanding of the traffic situation – the ability to accurately notice and evaluate important stimuli on the road, such as traffic lights, other vehicles, pedestrians, and sudden obstacles.
2) Understanding and Knowledge of Road Rules – Understanding basic driving rules such as right of way, speed limits, overtaking rules, and maintaining public safety.
3) Predicting the behavior of others – the ability to predict the reaction of other drivers and pedestrians, which allows you to plan maneuvers in advance and reduce potential risks.
4) Controlling emotions and behaviour – recognising the impact of anger or anxiety on performance and taking steps to self-manage and maintain safe driving, including emotional regulation and behavioural adaptation to road stress.
5) Risk assessment and preventive decision-making – the ability to identify potentially dangerous situations and take preventive action, such as reducing speed, increasing the safe distance or changing lanes if necessary.
