delusional ideas characterized by a significant overestimation by the patient of his status in society, his mental and physical capabilities. In most cases, patients with delusions of grandeur are calm and benevolent, tolerant of external inconveniences and not inclined to aggression, although in some cases they can be impatient or even malicious when unsuccessful attempts to get people around them to listen or follow them. Particular cases of delusions of grandeur:
1) Wealth – the conviction of possessing a huge fortune, treasures;
2) High origin – conviction of descent from persons occupying a high position in society (belonging to royal dynasties, descendants of famous political leaders, artists);
3) Special abilities – conviction in the possession of outstanding abilities (the ability to predict the future, cure incurable diseases, solve the most complex problems, etc.);
4) Love charm (love, erotic) – the patient’s conviction that some person, more often famous, has love feelings for him, although they may not be personally acquainted. In his behavior they see certain signs that seem to confirm the correctness of these assumptions. Often patients persistently seek a meeting with their beloved, pursue him;
5) Invention – conviction in the accomplishment of a grandiose invention or discovery;
6) Reformism – the conviction in the possession of the idea of a radical restructuring of the life of the country or the whole world – political, economic, religious.
