Environmental awareness
A psychological process by which stimuli from the physical and social environment are interpreted and recognized, creating a mental image of the world around us. This perception involves recognizing physical components, such as landscapes, buildings, and colors, as well as social components, such as the presence and actions of other people. Perception of the environment goes beyond mere visual observation and involves the assimilation of meanings, symbols, and connotations associated with a place, and is the basis for the formation of spatial identity and emotional attachment to the environment.
