Neurodevelopmental disorders

A group of disorders that become noticeable as the nervous system develops, usually in childhood. They are characterized by difficulties in cognition, social interaction, and communication that arise early in development and persist later in life. Such disorders are not acquired – they are initially laid down in the brain at birth. These are dynamic manifestations of the neuropsychological development of the child.
